Well, here we are still at the Ronald McDonald House. I have a new respect for McDonald's after staying in this place and seeing what a difference it makes for hundred's of families to be able to be together probably during one of the worst times of their lives with very little expense. The house is beautiful and has an indoor and outdoor play area, a library, and at least one meal a day brought in by a volunteer group for free. The house is literally a three minute drive from the hospital. It takes us longer to leave Mac's room, go down the elevator and walk to the parking lot than it does to drive to the house. What a blessing.
I have been staying with McKenna during the day and taking care of her while Dustin has the opportunity to play with Alia and Nat during the day and also can take a nap in a real bed at the RMcD house with Alia. It's been good snuggle time for everyone. Mac looks great without all her tubes, but she is still struggling with headaches. We seem to be able to manage the pain with Motrin, but wish she were not experiencing the pain at all. Tomorrow there will be no therapy at all because of the holiday. I'm a little worried that the day will be boring for McKenna, but we'll get by. She had some neighbor friends visit today and my dad came by with her cousins for a visit, too. I think the visitors really lift her spirits.
My mom is doing really great. She seems to be able to get around well with her walker and participate in physical therapy. She is also getting dressed by herself. The only real pain she has is when she is sitting up or needs help to get in and out of the bed. Her pain is related to the broken rib in her back, so that should be getting better soon.
Items of specific prayer needs are McKenna's headaches to resolve, for mom's ribs to heal and pain to go away. Pray for Dustin's energy level that he would be able to handle all the stress of this situation. Please pray for Christy's pain in her hips to resolve. Finally pray for Nat and Alia to be able to handle to stress of going back and forth to the hospital, to deal with McKenna's special needs, and be okay staying at the RMcD house. Thanks to all who keep checking the blog and keeping us in prayer.

This is a list I bought from Don Gossett ministries a few years ago. He is a great evangelist, and was ministering in Africa with his daughter, having fabulous crusades....as they were flying home, his daughter started bleeding from her eyes, and nose, and mouth....and the pilot grounded the plane to immediately evacuate her, they were concerned it was ebola virus. When they landed in London, she was quarentined, and Don Gossett was told that she had no chance of survival, and there was nothing they could do for her, she was in a seperate ICU, and all of the medical workers would wear protective gear to check on her....Don Gossett got this list he had written out, and began speaking each scripture over her...every time throughout the night that he would land on O " ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham....He would feel a tug in his spirit. Eventually he just read the O scripture over and over and over....By morning, he daughter whom they expected to be dead, opened her eyes, and sat up in bed...completely healed, no lasting effect, and fully restored.....

Faithfully lifting your family in prayer, as a unit and as individuals, has become a fixture of our daily living. We pray for you before we eat our meals, as the Spirit prompts throughout the day, and before we close our eyes at night. We love all of you and make every attempt to empathize with the unique journey each of you are each on. We, like many others in our community, are anxiously awaiting the return of your united family. We are the Body of Christ and will continue to wrap His arms around you until you feel whole.
